Distilled water to 1.0 L
Adjust pH to 4.0 - 5.0. Add 0.10g/L NaSiO3 5H2O while stirring continuously. Adjust pH to 8.0 when the silicate has dissolved.
S88 + vitamins:
Prepare as for S77 + vitamins, but with the following modifications:
Omit Tris and replace with 0.50 g/L glycylglycine
Add 50.0 �g/L thiamine HCl in addition to cyanocobalamin
Omit NaSiO3 5H2O and the associated prior step of adjusting the pH to 4.0 - 5.0
